What Were Looking For:
Driver Qualifications:
- Must hold a current and valid CDL Class A for interstate driving.
- Minimum age: 21 years old.
- Must be able to drive a manual transmission.
- No more than 6 DOT employers in the past 12 months (excluding temp jobs, gig work, and payroll companies).
- Must pass a DOT medical exam (valid for over 90 days) and a drug screening.
- No DUI/DWI or equivalent convictions in the last 10 years.
- No violations of DOT/non-DOT drug or alcohol testing or refusals in the last 10 years.
- Drivers terminated for accidents must have 6 months of clean driving with another carrier before applying.
Accident & Moving Violation Guidelines:
- No more than 2 preventable accidents in the last 3 years.
- Zero DOT preventable accidents in the last 5 years.
- No fatality-involved preventable accidents at any time.
Moving Violations:
- No driving a CMV without a valid CDL in the last 5 years.
- No speeding violations of 25+ mph over the limit in the last 3 years.
- No more than:
- 2 moving violations in the past 3 years
- 3 moving violations in the past 5 years
- No more than 1 violation from this list in the past 3 years:
- Speeding 15+ mph over the posted limit
- Reckless or careless driving
- Improper/erratic lane changes
- Following too closely
- Failure to stop at a sign or signal
- Use of handheld device while driving
License Suspensions:
- No convictions for driving on a suspended license in the last 5 years.
- Safety-related suspensions: No more than 1 in the last 12 months and 3 in the last 5 months.
- Non-safety suspensions (e.g., child support or insurance) do not count.
