About the job Communications Program Director
The Communications Program Director is a senior leadership role responsible for the strategic planning, execution, and governance of organization-wide communications programs. This position ensures consistent, effective, and high-impact messaging across internal and external channels while aligning communications initiatives with business objectives and brand standards.
The successful candidate will provide strategic leadership, manage cross-functional communications programs, and drive measurable outcomes in a fully remote environment.

Key Responsibilities:
Develop and lead comprehensive communications strategies and multi-channel programs aligned with organizational goals
Oversee internal and external communications initiatives, including executive communications, employee engagement, and public relations
Manage program planning, timelines, budgets, and performance metrics for communications initiatives
Partner with executive leadership to develop key messaging, talking points, and strategic narratives
Ensure message consistency, brand alignment, and editorial standards across all communications
Lead cross-functional teams, agencies, and vendors to deliver communications programs effectively
Monitor media trends, stakeholder sentiment, and communications performance analytics
Support crisis communications planning and execution as needed
Provide leadership, mentoring, and professional development to communications staff
Required Qualifications:
Bachelors degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Marketing, or a related field
8–12 years of experience in corporate communications, public relations, or strategic communications, including program leadership
Demonstrated experience managing large-scale, cross-functional communications programs
Strong strategic thinking, editorial judgment, and message development skills
Excellent written, verbal, and executive-level communication abilities
Proven ability to lead teams and influence senior stakeholders
Experience working in remote or distributed team environments
Preferred Qualifications:
Masters degree in Communications, Business Administration, or a related discipline
Experience in regulated industries, public sector, or enterprise organizations
Background in change communications, crisis communications, or executive communications
Familiarity with communications analytics and measurement frameworks
Compensation:
Annual Salary Range: $145,000 – $190,000 USD, commensurate with experience, leadership scope, and geographic location
