About the job Junior System Administrator

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support Linux-based systems: manage user accounts, monitor system performance, basic troubleshooting.
  • Perform routine network checks and assist in network configuration and monitoring.
  • Support basic system administration tasks such as patching, backups, and scripting.
  • Work closely with senior administrators to learn Informatica Administration, including installation, configuration, and troubleshooting.
  • Gain exposure to DevOps tools and practices, including CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure as code, and cloud platforms.
  • Maintain system documentation and assist in process improvements.
  • Monitor system logs and proactively identify potential issues.
  • Adhere to IT security policies and practices.
  • Participate in on-the-job training and certification plans as guided.

Must-Have Skills:

  • 1-3 years of experience in Linux System Administration.
  • Basic Networking Fundamentals: IP addressing, DNS, DHCP, Routing basics.
  • Familiarity with shell scripting (Bash, or similar).
  • Good understanding of system monitoring and log analysis.
  • Knowledge of basic IT security principles.
  • Ability to troubleshoot OS and network-related issues.
  • Strong willingness and ability to learn new technologies.

Good to Have:

  • Prior exposure to Informatica Administration (PowerCenter, MDM, or similar).
  • Understanding of databases and basic SQL.
  • Exposure to DevOps tools (Jenkins, Git, Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, etc.).
  • Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
  • Familiarity with ITIL practices.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
  • Relevant certifications (RHCSA, CompTIA Network+, or similar) are a plus.
