Role Overview
The Business Head - Fragrance will be responsible for the overall strategic direction, operational management, and financial performance of the fragrance business unit. This role demands a visionary leader who can align the fragrance portfolio with market trends, enhance brand equity, and achieve ambitious revenue and profitability targets. The ideal candidate will have deep industry knowledge, strong leadership skills, and a passion for fragrances and cosmetics.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Leadership
- Develop and execute a comprehensive business strategy for the fragrance division aligned with the companys overall vision and goals.
- Identify new market opportunities, consumer trends, and competitive dynamics to position the brand as a market leader.
- Drive innovation in product development, packaging, and marketing to create differentiated fragrance offerings.
Business Development & Sales
- Lead sales planning and forecasting to achieve revenue and profitability targets.
- Build and manage key relationships with distributors, retailers, and partners globally.
- Develop pricing strategies that maximize market share while maintaining margins.
Marketing & Brand Management
- Oversee the creation and implementation of impactful marketing campaigns that enhance brand awareness and consumer engagement.
- Collaborate with marketing teams to ensure consistent brand messaging across all channels including digital, retail, and traditional media.
- Monitor brand performance and consumer feedback to refine marketing approaches.
Operational Excellence
- Manage P&L for the fragrance business unit ensuring cost efficiency and profitability.
- Oversee supply chain coordination, inventory management, and timely product launches.
- Ensure compliance with industry regulations and quality standards.
Team Leadership & Development
- Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing cross-functional team across sales, marketing, product development, and operations.
- Foster a culture of innovation, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Set clear performance objectives and conduct regular appraisals.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelors degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Chemistry, or related field; MBA preferred.
- Minimum 10 years of experience in the perfume/fragrance or cosmetics industry with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.
- Proven track record of managing a P&L and driving business growth in a competitive market environment.
- Deep understanding of fragrance trends, consumer behavior, and regulatory landscape.
- Strong strategic thinking, negotiation, and communication skills.
- Ability to lead diverse teams and work collaboratively across functions.
- Willingness to travel as needed to meet business requirements.
