Role Overview
Our client is seeking a dynamic and strategic Business Head - Glass to lead its premium glass packaging division. This senior leadership role combines commercial strategy, product development oversight, market expansion, and cross-functional coordination to drive growth and innovation within the division. The Business Head will be responsible for overseeing glass bottle manufacturing, sourcing, and global B2B client management, ensuring that the division remains at the forefront of the fragrance and cosmetics packaging industry.
The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in the fragrance or cosmetics packaging sectors, with a strong focus on glass packaging. This role will be crucial in positioning the company as a leading supplier of premium glass solutions to fragrance and beauty brands worldwide, driving profitability and strengthening supply partnerships.
Key Responsibilities:
Business Leadership & Strategy
- Define and execute the overall business strategy for the Glass vertical, aligning with company goals and market trends.
- Lead all commercial and operational activities for the glass division, ensuring business growth and market relevance.
- Develop annual business plans, budgets, and sales forecasts, ensuring P&L targets are met.
Client & Market Development
- Cultivate and manage relationships with key B2B clients, including fragrance houses, beauty brands, and OEM partners.
- Identify new business opportunities and lead high-value negotiations with strategic accounts.
- Represent the company at international trade shows, client meetings, and industry events to drive brand visibility and business development.
Product & Supply Chain Management
- Oversee glass product portfolio development in coordination with design, technical, and sourcing teams.
- Collaborate with global glass manufacturers to manage quality, timelines, pricing, and innovation.
- Ensure consistent delivery of high-quality, on-brand packaging solutions tailored to client needs.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Coordinate with internal departments including Design, R&D, Technical, Logistics, and Finance to ensure smooth operations and project execution.
- Serve as the key decision-maker for all glass-related business matters, reporting directly to senior leadership.
Team Leadership & Development
- Lead and mentor the Glass team (sales, project, and operations), fostering a high-performance and collaborative culture.
- Define KPIs and review team performance regularly, providing coaching and support as needed.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Proven leadership experience in the glass packaging sector, preferably in fragrance, cosmetics, or personal care industries.
- Strong knowledge of glass bottle manufacturing, decoration, customization, and sourcing processes.
- Minimum of 10 years in packaging, with at least 5 years in a leadership or business unit head role.
- Strong background in B2B sales, commercial negotiation, and international supplier management.
- Bachelors degree in Business Administration, Industrial Design, Engineering, or a related field.
- MBA or advanced business qualification is a plus.
- Strong business acumen with a commercial and strategic mindset.
- Excellent leadership, negotiation, and client management skills.
- In-depth understanding of fragrance and beauty packaging trends, sustainability, and innovation.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and CRM tools; familiarity with ERP systems is an advantage.
- Ability to manage complexity and work effectively across global markets and time zones.
