JOB FUNCTION/PURPOSE:

Beacon Communications, LLC is seeking a motivated Audio - Visual Service Technician to join our dynamic service team. This role focuses on the troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair of commercial AV systems. The salary range for this position is $30.00 - $37.50/hour, commensurate on relevant factors such as education, experience, etc.



KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Diagnose and resolve AV system issues across conference rooms, boardrooms, classrooms, and public assembly spaces

- Perform on-site service calls and preventive maintenance in alignment with service level agreements

- Troubleshoot AV components including DSPs, matrix switchers, touch panels, control processors, displays, projectors, and video conferencing systems

- Document service activities, issue resolutions, and client interactions in the ticketing system

- Collaborate with engineering and operations teams to identify root causes and implement long-term fixes

- Maintain a clean and organized service vehicle and inventory of parts and tools

- Assist with basic programming adjustments and firmware updates

- Support customer training on AV system functionality and usability

- Adhere to safety standards, job site protocols, and manufacturer guidelines


JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

Required:

- 2+ years of experience servicing commercial AV systems

- Familiarity with AV technologies such as Crestron, Biamp, Extron, QSC, Shure, etc.

- Strong understanding of signal flow, wiring standards, and device configuration

- Ability to read and interpret AV system drawings and schematics

- Valid driver's license and clean driving record

- Strong communication and problem-solving skills

- Pass background check

Preferred:

- CTS or CTS-I certification (or willingness to obtain within 12 months)

- Experience with ticketing platforms (e.g.,VISTA, or similar)
