About the job SCHOOL-BASED SPEECH LANGUAGE PATHOLOGIST

Hours:

  • 8:00 AM - 3:30 PM (See students from 9:00 AM - 2:30 PM)
  • Approximately 10 sessions per day
  • We are a 12-month program. Off for typical school breaks and holidays, a 2 week "early summer" break followed by a 6 week summer session and a 2 week "late summer" break.

Salary:

  • TSSLD: $58,000+ (must have NYS Speech and Language Disabilities teaching certification)
  • SLP: $60,000+ (must have NYS Speech and Language Disabilities teaching certification and NYS SLP license)
  • Responsibilities:
    • Deliver speech-language services as mandated by Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
    • Create and maintain accurate and thorough documentation
    • Collaborate as part of the educational/clinical team for each student
    • Apply evidence-based practices in therapy
    • Demonstrate professional knowledge of children with developmental disabilities
    • Effectively communicate and collaborate with families
    • Track data and make data-driven decisions
    • Assess student progress regularly
    • Manage behavioral challenges
    • Adhere to agency core values of Adaptability, Accountability, Collaboration, Integrity, Optimism, and Respect
    • Follow employment policies including dress code, attendance, punctuality, and Paid Time Off
    Requirements:
    • Masters Degree in Communication Disorders and/or Sciences or Speech-Language Pathology
    • NYS Licensed Speech-Language Pathologist; NYS Certified Teacher of the Speech and Hearing Handicapped (TSHH) or NYS Certified Speech and Language Disabilities (TSSLD)
    • Entry-level candidates and Clinical Fellows (CF) are encouraged to apply
