Act as the contact point and communication support for Chinese speaking companies during early engagement, in coordination with the relevant sector team.

Support sector teams by facilitating Chinese language communication, company engagement, delegation support, and handover once a concrete investment interest or proposal is identified.

The role supports the advancement of investment opportunities through FAST's Promotion and Engagement stage of the FDI Project Lifecycle, while sector teams remain responsible for sector specific assessment and project ownership.

Roles and Responsibilities:

Market Intelligence & Chinese Language Support

  • Identify and conduct background research on potential Chinese speaking companies, business groups, and investment related contacts based on sectoral priorities and planned engagement activities.
  • Support sector teams by reviewing, translating, or summarising Chinese language information on company profiles, market developments, investment interests, and relevant business updates.

Chinese Speaking Investor Engagement

  • Engage with Chinese speaking companies as the early contact point where Chinese language support is required.
  • Prepare or support Chinese language correspondence, presentations, sector briefs, meeting notes, and briefing materials for investor discussions.
  • Coordinate and support investor meetings, site visits, and engagement sessions involving Chinese speaking companies, with the relevant sector team present where sector matters are discussed.

Investment Proposal Support

  • Support communication between the sector team and Chinese speaking companies for the preparation of Investment Proposal Briefs and related documentation, when requested by the sector team.
  • Assist sector teams to clarify project concepts, gather required information, and follow up on Chinese language documents or queries from companies.

Early Stage Lead Tracking

  • Maintain and update records of Chinese speaking company engagements before they are recorded in the relevant sector investment opportunity pipeline, and hand over records to the sector team once sector interest is confirmed.

Promotion and Delegation Support

  • Support targeted investment promotion activities involving Chinese speaking markets, including roadshows, conferences, business matching sessions, and inbound or outbound delegations.
  • Support the preparation, review, or adaptation of sector promotion materials and presentations in Chinese language, based on inputs from the relevant sector team.

Coordination

  • Coordinate with FAST teams, other BEDB divisions, and relevant stakeholders to support company engagement and follow up for Chinese speaking investors.
  • Liaise with relevant government agencies and stakeholders where required to support company engagement, meeting facilitation, and follow up actions.

Key Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Economics, Business Administration, international Relations, Public Policy, Chinese Studies, Translation, or any related discipline.
  • 0 to 3 years of relevant work experience in investment promotion, stakeholder engagement, business facilitation, research, translation, or related fields.
  • Fresh graduates with relevant internship or project experience may be considered.
  • Strong Chinese language communication skills, including Mandarin speaking, reading, and writing for business engagement.
  • Ability to prepare, translate, or summarise Chinese and English correspondence, briefs, meeting notes, and presentation materials.
  • Strong coordination, stakeholder engagement, and meeting facilitation skills.
  • Strong research capability, attention to detail, and working knowledge of common office software used for documentation, reporting, and presentations.
