The role holder is responsible to identify and assess potential investment opportunities within the assigned sector by conducting sector analysis, engaging with investors and contributing to the development of investment proposals.
The role supports the advancement of investment opportunities through FAST's Promotion and Engagement stage of the FDI Project Lifecycle.
Roles & Responsibilities:
A. Market Intelligence & Sector Analysis
- Conduct research and analysis on sector developments, market trends and investment opportunities relevant to the assigned sector.
- Develop and maintain knowledge of industry value chains, investor landscapes and sector competitiveness.
- Analyse sector developments to identify potential investment opportunities aligned with national economic priorities.
B. Investor Engagement
- Engage with potential investors to share information on investment opportunities within the sector.
- Prepare presentations, sector briefs and briefing materials for investor discussions.
- Coordinate and support investor meetings, site visits and engagement sessions.
C. Investment Proposal Development
- Contribute to the preparation of Investment Proposal Briefs (IPBs) and related documentation.
- Analyse investment proposals and compile relevant sector and project information required for evaluation.
- Support discussions with investors to refine project concepts and gather required information.
D. Opportunity Pipeline Tracking
- Maintain and update records of investor engagements and the sector investment opportunity pipeline.
- Monitor the progress of assigned investment opportunities and report updates to the sector lead.
- Identify potential issues affecting opportunity development and escalate where necessary.
E. Promotion Activities
- Participate in sector-specific investment promotion activities such as roadshows, conferences and stakeholder engagements.
- Support preparation of sector promotion materials and presentations.
F. Coordination
- Coordinate with FAST teams, other BEDB divisions and relevant stakeholders to obtain sector information and support the development of investment opportunities.
- Liaise with relevant government agencies and stakeholders where required to support investment proposals.
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in Economics, Finance, Business Administration, Marketing, International Relations or related disciplines.
- Typically 0–3 years of relevant work experience in investment promotion, economic development, research or related fields.
- Fresh graduates with relevant internship or project experience may be considered.
- Basic understanding of investment promotion concepts and sector or industry dynamics.
- Ability to analyse sector information and interpret market developments.
- Strong research and analytical capability
- Good written and presentation skills for preparing briefs and reports
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
- Computer literate with working knowledge of common office software used for documentation, reporting and presentations.
