Reporting directly to senior leadership, role holder will be able to execute and manage the full lifecycle of infrastructure projects, with a focus on electrical systems including power distribution, lighting, and control systems. To also collaborate closely with stakeholders, consultants, and contractors to ensure timely, compliant, and high-quality delivery.

Roles and Responsibilities:

A. Independence & maturity:

  • Works with minimal guidance.
  • Understand civil & structural engineering, mechanical & electrical engineering, architectural and/or plumbing drawings including cross-sections, plans, elevations and details.

B. Procurement:

  • Develop procurement strategies of Assigned Projects based on the FIDIC rainbow suite / conditions of contracts and the BEDB bespoke contracts.
  • Perform risk analysis, management and mitigation of Assigned Projects.
  • Develop the Request for Tender (RFT), Quotation (RFQ) & Proposal (RFP) documents of Assigned Projects.
  • Quantity take-off and cost estimation of Assigned Projects.

C. Contract administration:

  • Manage and deliver Assigned Projects according to the CPD Contract Administration Manual, including variations, payment certification, letter writing and document control.

D. Project management:

  • Procure relevant standards for Assigned Projects.
  • Conduct regular inspection of Assigned Projects.
  • Monitoring and appraising vendor performance of Assigned Projects.

E. Health, Safety Environment :

  • Managing construction HSE aspects of Assigned Projects.

F. Creative problem-solving:

  • Solves a range of straightforward technical, commercial and contractual problems; analyse possible solutions using standard procedures and best practice.

G. CAPEX planning & expenditure of Assigned Projects:

  • Assist Team Lead and/or Manager in the:
    • Planning, coordination, programming and forecasting of CAPEX budgets, including coordination and liaison with internal and/or external stakeholders for any necessary information.
    • Derivation of ROI for Assigned Projects.
    • Prioritisation of projects, including cost-benefit analysis.
    • Application, disbursement and monitoring of CAPEX funds.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelors Degree holder of engineering discipline preferably electrical, instrumentation and/or automation engineering.
  • Preferebly with relevant experience, including successfully managing construction project(s).
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Project, including development & editions of:
    • Critical path
    • Baselines
    • Formulas for status indicators.
  • Capable of reading and interpreting engineering drawings.

  • These attributes would be considered advantageous:
    • AutoCAD drafting experience.
    • Chartered professional status / membership with the relevant professional institution.
    • Possession of supplementary professional certifications will be viewed as an advantage.
