Job Title: Health & Safety Officer
Reports To: HR Manager / Factory Manager

Hours: 40 hours per week, Monday Friday (flexibility required during audits, peak seasons, or customer visits)
Salary: £35,000 £40,000 per year OTE
Benefits: 28 days holiday, bank holidays (subject to approval), workplace pension, staff events, on-site parking/canteen
Role Overview:
As a Health & Safety Officer, you will support the business in implementing Health & Safety policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with all legal obligations, and promoting the health, safety, and well-being of all employees. The Health & Safety Officer will play a key role in maintaining a safe workplace while delivering training, audits, and guidance across the organization.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:

Provide Health & Safety guidance and support to managers, team leaders, and staff.

Assist in the development and implementation of company Health & Safety policies.

Maintain compliance with relevant Health & Safety legislation and regulations.

Coordinate all fire alarm and fire safety requirements.

Support training activities, including First Aid and Fire Warden programs.

Perform Health & Safety audits, inspections, and incident investigations.

Prepare and maintain accurate reports, documentation, and records.

Conduct risk assessments and develop follow-up action plans.

Support internal audits and external audit processes.

Reinforce all Health & Safety protocols across the business.

Deliver internal Health & Safety training sessions and coordinate external training where necessary.

Actively promote the organizations values and a culture of safety.
Required Skills and Competencies:

Minimum 2 years experience in a similar Health & Safety role.

Relevant Health & Safety qualifications (e.g., NEBOSH, IOSH).

Experience with report writing, auditing, and RAMS.

Excellent communication skills (written and verbal).

Proficient in IT and numeracy (MS Office).

Full clean driving license.
Desirable Skills and Qualifications:

NEBOSH Diploma or Degree.

Experience within the food or FMCG industry.

Training certification or experience delivering Health & Safety training.

Additional Information:
