Job Title: Health & Safety Officer
Reports To: HR Manager / Factory Manager

Hours: 40 hours per week, Monday Friday (flexibility required during audits, peak seasons, or customer visits)
Salary: £35,000 £40,000 per year OTE
Benefits: 28 days holiday, bank holidays (subject to approval), workplace pension, staff events, on-site parking/canteen

Role Overview:

As a Health & Safety Officer, you will support the business in implementing Health & Safety policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with all legal obligations, and promoting the health, safety, and well-being of all employees. The Health & Safety Officer will play a key role in maintaining a safe workplace while delivering training, audits, and guidance across the organization.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide Health & Safety guidance and support to managers, team leaders, and staff.

  • Assist in the development and implementation of company Health & Safety policies.

  • Maintain compliance with relevant Health & Safety legislation and regulations.

  • Coordinate all fire alarm and fire safety requirements.

  • Support training activities, including First Aid and Fire Warden programs.

  • Perform Health & Safety audits, inspections, and incident investigations.

  • Prepare and maintain accurate reports, documentation, and records.

  • Conduct risk assessments and develop follow-up action plans.

  • Support internal audits and external audit processes.

  • Reinforce all Health & Safety protocols across the business.

  • Deliver internal Health & Safety training sessions and coordinate external training where necessary.

  • Actively promote the organizations values and a culture of safety.

Required Skills and Competencies:

  • Minimum 2 years experience in a similar Health & Safety role.

  • Relevant Health & Safety qualifications (e.g., NEBOSH, IOSH).

  • Experience with report writing, auditing, and RAMS.

  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal).

  • Proficient in IT and numeracy (MS Office).

  • Full clean driving license.

Desirable Skills and Qualifications:

  • NEBOSH Diploma or Degree.

  • Experience within the food or FMCG industry.

  • Training certification or experience delivering Health & Safety training.

Additional Information:
