Production Manager

Reports To: Managing Director / Operations Director
Location: Production Facility / Office
Salary: Competitive, depending on experience

Job Purpose

To oversee all aspects of production, despatch, and facilities operations to ensure efficient, high-quality, and cost-effective performance across the manufacturing site.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the daily production plan, logistics activities, and overall team performance.

• Lead and coordinate production, technical, and logistics teams to ensure operational efficiency.

• Develop and implement continuous improvement initiatives, including lean practices and waste reduction.

• Manage budgets, productivity levels, and operational cost control.

• Ensure compliance with food safety, quality, and Health & Safety standards across all functions.

• Monitor operational KPIs and implement corrective actions where required.

• Support customer delivery schedules and maintain strong service standards.

• Coach, mentor, and develop supervisors and team leaders to strengthen team capability.

Skills & Qualifications

• Proven experience in operations or factory management within the food or FMCG industry.

• Strong understanding of food safety systems such as HACCP and BRC.

• Demonstrated leadership, strategic planning, and problem-solving skills.

• Experience in budget management and resource planning.

• Proficiency in ERP systems, production planning tools, and Microsoft Office.

• Flexible hours may be required, including occasional evenings or weekends during peak production periods.
