Key Responsibilities

  • Designs and supports fire protection systems, emergency shutdown mechanisms, facility layouts, and other loss prevention initiatives.
  • Investigates significant incidents and near misses, sharing key findings and collaborating with legal teams for potential recovery eAorts.
  • Develops guidelines, procedures, training materials, and technical standards related to loss prevention.
  • Assists in testing fire pumps and other safety-critical systems at field locations.
  • Tracks and helps resolve recommendations from insurers, investigations, and internal reviews.
  • Analyzes loss and claims data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
  • Participates in insurance underwriting processes and site visits with external risk assessors.
  • Reviews third-party loss control reports and validates findings.
  • Conducts risk assessments of company facilities, identifying potential hazards and recommending mitigation strategies.
  • Provides technical support to various departments on risk-related topics.
  • Represents the company in industry organizations and technical committees focused on loss prevention.

Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree or higher in Engineering or Engineering Technology (e.g., Chemical, Mechanical, Fire Protection).
  • At least five years of experience in fire protection, risk control, or loss prevention.
  • Preferred experience in industries such as refining, petrochemicals, renewable energy (liquid fuels), or complex manufacturing.
