Position: Butler / House Manager
Location: Woodside, CA
Schedule: Tuesday through Saturday, 11 AM to 7 PM (flexible, with occasional events)
Compensation: $175,000 + comprehensive benefits

About the Role

A distinguished private family in Woodside seeks an exceptional Butler/House Manager to elevate daily living through seamless, behind-the-scenes service and refined hospitality standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide formal hospitality service: greeting guests, performing discreet beverage service, supporting both everyday living and special events.
  • Oversee wardrobe management and garment care: packing, unpacking, and organizing closets.
  • Maintain and enhance the home environment: floral arrangements, seasonal decorating, and ambiance.
  • Event preparation and service: collaborate with other household staff for seamless gatherings.
  • Ensure equipment, service areas, and presentation standards are consistently maintained.
  • Teamwork: work harmoniously with a full-time housekeeper and housemen; respect preference for minimal conversation and quiet efficiency.

Must-Have Skills & Experience

  • Required: Experience in private luxury household, formal estate/household management, or five-star hospitality.
  • Demonstrated mastery of formal etiquette and service standards.
  • Expertise in wardrobe/garment management and travel packing.
  • Professional beverage service skills, knowledge of formal protocols.
  • Proven event support/service experience (private home or top-tier hospitality).
  • Fresh floral arrangement and decorating abilities.
  • Superior organization, reliability, and work ethic.
  • High attention to detail; invisible hand service style.
  • Discretion and privacy: minimal interaction, ultra-professional demeanor.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills; able to work quietly within a team.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 5+ years in luxury private home or elite, high-service hospitality.
  • Experience relocating with principals (preferred, not required).
  • Bay Area local or proven ability to adapt/relocate for the role.

  • Direct, recent experience as a Butler, House Manager, or senior estate staff in UHNW private homes.
  • Mastery of all core service, etiquette, and discretion standards.
  • Track record of making principals lives easier, more beautiful, more seamless through proactive, anticipatory service.
  • Able to operate autonomously while blending into households rhythms.

Commercial/hotel backgrounds are considered only if directly transferable and paired with ultra-discreet, principal-facing experience.
