Senior Payroll Officer

About the Role

Were looking for an experienced Senior Payroll Officer to lead and elevate our Payroll & Admin function. In this role, youll take ownership of delivering an accurate, compliant, and efficient payroll service for our national team, while helping us continuously improve the way we work.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys both the detail and the bigger picture—balancing day‑to‑day payroll operations with process enhancement, problem‑solving and building strong relationships across the business.

What Youll Be Doing

• Deliver end‑to‑end monthly payroll with accuracy, confidentiality and care.
• Manage payroll queries and maintain up‑to‑date employee records.
• Process ad hoc payments and prepare relevant payroll documentation.
• Stay across legislative changes and ensure ongoing compliance.
• Support month‑end, year‑end and reconciliation requirements.
• Produce insightful payroll reporting for the wider group.
• Partner with leaders across the business to build confidence and trust in payroll services.
• Support the maintenance and optimisation of payroll systems.
• Champion a safety‑first mindset across everything we do.
• National payroll experience across multiple states highly regarded.

What Youll Bring

• Tertiary qualification in Business, HR, Accounting or similar (preferred).
• Minimum 3 years payroll experience in a fast‑paced or complex environment.
• Strong understanding of Awards & Enterprise Agreements.
• Intermediate to advanced Excel skills.
• Experience with Dayforce Preferred
• Time & Attendance (T&A) system experience.
• Retail payroll experience is a bonus but not essential.
