Responsibilities for Real Estate Intern

  • Understand the importance of running my business like a business, so therefore must be committed to tracking my activities and results.

  • Must commit to making at least 5 contacts per day consistently.

  • Must commit to learning the contracts and addendums as necessary.

  • Will agree to be a student of the market and develop an intimate knowledge of the trends and important market statistics in our area.

  • Develop questionnaires; 

  • Perform door-to-door contacts and assist with preparing marketing materials; 

  • assist in calculations and quantitative analysis

  • research necessary records and statistics. 

  • Assist clients in setting initial consultations and connecting them to our lenders.

  • Prepare portfolios (property briefs) of prospective properties to be provided to a sales agent after the agent has qualified the client. 

  • Develop and maintain lists of for sale by owner properties for follow-up mailings and contact by the regular staff. 

  • Prepare advertising copy and news releases. Also, develop layouts, plans, sketches, and photography for other media. (In writing advertisements, the intern will learn the strategies and policies of the participating firm.) 

  • Helping agents with administrative tasks such as answering phones, greeting clients, and scheduling appointments

  • Collecting data regarding home prices, neighborhood demographics, crime rates, school quality, etc. to help determine what properties will be most profitable to sell or rent

  • Researching potential clients to determine if they are suitable candidates for real estate services based on needs and preferences

  • Assisting with showings, open houses, and other activities related to selling or renting properties

  • Preparing reports about listings, including information about price, square footage, number of bedrooms and bathrooms, and other details that would help potential buyers make an informed decision about whether or not to purchase a home

  • Reviewing real estate listings and contacting listing agents to obtain more information about properties that may be of interest to clients

  • Providing clients with information about the buying or selling process, including tips on how to make an offer, how to prepare for home inspections, and how to close on a home purchase or sale

  • Coordinating with contractors to schedule repairs or renovations on homes being sold or rented


Qualifications for Real Estate Intern

  • Strong sales, and communication skills

  • Ability to understand and present contracts

  • Ability to network to build your business

  • Strong work ethic, and a pleasant and trustworthy demeanor

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications

  • Ability to work independently with excellent interpersonal skills

  • Ready to give back in a volunteer position within the community and with the Brokerage.

  • Willing and ready to be involved in training and education.
