About the Role

We are seeking an organized, proactive, and motivated Operations Manager to support a growing construction services organization. This role serves as the central coordination point between customers, field crews, suppliers, and internal leadership. Prior industry-specific experience is not required; strong operational instincts and communication skills are essential.

Position Overview

  • Title: Operations Manager
  • Location: Athens, GA area
  • Reports to: Executive Leadership

Key Responsibilities

Scheduling & Operations Coordination

  • Own and manage the operations schedule, serving as the central hub between customers, field crews, and suppliers
  • Update and maintain a dynamic, real-time schedule that adapts to changing conditions
  • Communicate clearly and professionally with customers regarding scheduling and job status
  • Assign and schedule crews for active and upcoming jobs
  • Coordinate internally to ensure required materials are available and staged for projects

Relationship Management

  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with key customers
  • Develop trusted relationships with subcontractor crews and supervisors
  • Act as a primary point of contact to ensure smooth coordination across all stakeholders

Project & Job Tracking

  • Track job progress and completion status
  • Review and verify job completion documentation
  • Approve weekly subcontractor payments based on verified work completion

Vendor & Materials Management

  • Ensure appropriate inventory levels of materials
  • Build and maintain relationships with key vendors and suppliers
  • Oversee material preparation and loading for job sites
  • Evaluate vendor pricing and material quality to ensure best overall value

Qualifications & Attributes

  • Strong communicator and relationship-builder; comfortable serving as the hub of daily operations
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and responsive
  • Able to manage shifting priorities and real-time problem-solving in a fast-paced environment
  • Comfortable with some communication outside of traditional business hours when needed

Experience & Skills

  • Around 5 years of experience in operations, logistics, project management, or similar roles
  • Comfortable using digital tools and scheduling platforms (Trello, or similar)
  • Construction or field-services experience preferred but not required
  • Bilingual English/Spanish a plus, not required
