Position Summary
A growing manufacturing organization is seeking an experienced Quality Manager to lead all quality operations across the facility. This individual will oversee the Quality Management System, audits, inspection processes, and customer quality relations.
The Quality Manager will ensure that products and processes meet internal standards and customer specifications by developing, implementing, and maintaining effective quality systems. This role partners closely with production and leadership to drive process improvement while maintaining ISO 9001:2015 certification.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain the company's Quality Management System in accordance with ISO 9001
- Lead, train, and support the Quality team to ensure consistent inspection, testing, and documentation processes
- Oversee internal, customer, and supplier audits and ensure nonconformances are addressed through corrective and preventive actions
- Conduct root cause analysis and manage structured corrective action processes, including 8D and DMR
- Evaluate suspect and returned materials, determine disposition, and coordinate with customers on quality concerns
- Lead Management Review meetings to ensure ongoing compliance with customer and industry requirements
- Train production personnel on quality standards, inspection tools, and measurement systems
- Maintain calibration programs for inspection and test equipment
- Communicate directly with customers regarding quality issues and provide timely corrective action responses
- Support new product launches through quality planning, testing, and validation
- Partner with production and leadership to drive continuous improvement in product quality and process consistency
- Maintain required documentation, certifications, and records to support compliance audits
Required Skills and Competencies
Quality Systems Management
Strong working knowledge of ISO 9001 and structured quality systems
Analytical Thinking
Demonstrated ability in root cause analysis and data-driven problem solving
Leadership
Experience leading and developing quality personnel while promoting accountability and teamwork
Customer Focus
Ability to build and maintain strong customer relationships through clear communication and responsiveness
Technical Aptitude
Hands-on experience with inspection tools such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges
Communication
Clear written and verbal communication across production and leadership teams
Continuous Improvement
Experience driving process improvements using Lean, Six Sigma, or similar methodologies
Preferred Experience
- Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification
- Experience in plastics manufacturing
- Experience serving as an ISO Management Representative
- Familiarity with ERP systems such as Visual or SAP
- Advanced Microsoft Office skills
Physical and Work Environment
- Frequent standing, walking, and handling of parts or test equipment
- Occasional lifting up to 50 pounds
- Primarily office-based with regular exposure to the manufacturing floor
- Must be able to wear required PPE
Education and Experience
- Associate degree required; Bachelor's degree in Quality, Engineering, or related field preferred
- Minimum 5 years of experience in manufacturing quality or quality management
- Prior experience leading a quality team or managing a quality system
- Strong experience with audits, documentation, and corrective action processes
