Terms: Part-time Contractor — with expectation to transition to full-time 
Compensation: $25/hour (part-time contractor)
Schedule: 20 hours/week — 4 hours/day, 2 hours in the morning and 2 hours in the afternoon

About Flagstone:

Flagstone is a nonprofit dedicated to upstream eviction prevention — we prevent small financial shocks from becoming a crisis with our Rent Loan.

When the car breaks down or work is missed to care for a sick kid, paycheck-to-paycheck renters start falling behind on bills. Once they fall too far behind, there's very little help available and eviction becomes inevitable. We offer $500 no-fee, no-interest Rent Loans to help folks stay current on rent, even when money is tight.

Position Summary:

The Rent Loan Manager is responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of Flagstone's Rent Loan process. This role is ideal for someone who is detail-oriented, comfortable with independent work, and excited about making a real impact for paycheck-to-paycheck families. Over time, this role will also involve helping improve the processes that allow Flagstone to scale Rent Loans across Alabama and beyond.

Responsibilities:

• Manage daily Rent Loan processing operations

• Document decision-making processes accurately and thoroughly

• Engage with applicants through online customer service

• Dig into applicants' financial situations to better serve our renters

• Report progress and findings to the team regularly

• Contribute to Rent Loan process improvement conversations over time

Qualifications:

• Experience with detail-oriented processing or operations

• Ability to document decision-making processes

• Experience with online customer service

• Experience working with Google Workspace

• Experience using Salesforce or other online customer management platforms
• Attention to detail and ability to follow — and help evolve — decision-making logic

• Comfortable working independently on a small, hands-on team

• Excited about eviction prevention and making an impact for paycheck-to-paycheck families
