Job Description:

We are currently seeking a full-time experienced Cook to join our dynamic kitchen team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Indian cuisine and a passion for cooking authentic dishes that reflect the rich culinary heritage of Punjab.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare and cook a wide range of Indian dishes, including tandoori, curries and vegetarian items
• Ensure food is consistently prepared and presented to the restaurants standards
• Monitor stock levels and assist in inventory control
• Maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards in all food preparation areas
• Follow safe food handling and kitchen procedures
• Assist in creating and refining menu items
• Train and guide junior kitchen staff as needed
• Work collaboratively with front-of-house staff to ensure timely service

Requirements:

• Proven experience as a Cook, ideally in an Indian restaurant
• In-depth knowledge of traditional Indian spices and cooking methods
• Ability to work in a high-pressure, fast-paced kitchen environment
• Excellent organizational and time management skills
• Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery or equivalent qualification
• Valid food handling and hygiene certification
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends and public holidays
