Overview

We are seeking a 2nd Shift Production Supervisor to lead and support a high-performing manufacturing team in a fast-paced production environment. In this frontline leadership role, you will coordinate daily operations, ensure production targets are met, and foster a culture focused on safety, quality, efficiency, and continuous improvement.

You will act as a key leader on the shop floor, driving team engagement, coaching team leaders, and supporting lean manufacturing initiatives.

Shift Schedule

  • 2nd Shift: Monday–Thursday
  • Hours: 3:00 PM – 1:00 AM

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead daily production activities to meet safety, quality, delivery, and productivity goals
  • Build a respectful, inclusive work environment aligned with core values and servant leadership principles
  • Coach, train, and develop team leaders and production team members
  • Ensure compliance with training requirements, including safety, quality, equipment operation, and 5S standards
  • Maintain and update employee training matrices and skill tracking systems
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives (Lean, Kaizen, waste reduction, process optimization)
  • Support problem-solving efforts and encourage proactive team-based solutions
  • Establish and monitor operational goals aligned with plant performance metrics
  • Serve as the first point of contact for employee relations matters
  • Interface with union representatives regarding contract interpretation and disciplinary issues
  • Ensure adherence to production schedules and efficient resource utilization
  • Perform additional duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

  • 1–3 years of supervisory experience in a high-volume manufacturing environment
  • Demonstrated leadership experience with coaching and team development responsibilities
  • Experience working in a structured production environment with performance metrics
  • Strong understanding of safety, quality, and production standards
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel)
  • Experience in employee relations and/or unionized environments

Preferred Qualifications

  • Background in Fabrication, Metal Stamping, Machining, or Welding
  • Degree or coursework in Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or Operations
  • Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing principles (Kaizen, Kanban, 5S, continuous improvement)
  • Experience in process control and production scheduling

Compensation & Benefits

  • Base Salary: $70,000 – $85,000 annually
  • Performance Bonus: 5% metric-based bonus
  • Shift Differential: $500/month (~$6,000/year)
