About the job Shipping & Receiving Clerk – Warehouse Inventory (Forklift / SAP)
Job Summary
We are seeking a reliable Inventory Control / Shipping & Receiving Clerk to support warehouse and manufacturing operations at our Bellefontaine facility. This role is responsible for accurate inventory transactions, receiving and inspection of materials, data entry into inventory systems (including SAP), and safe material handling in a fast-paced production environment.
This position is ideal for candidates with experience in warehouse operations, material handling, forklift operation, and inventory control systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform accurate data entry for inventory management systems (SAP or similar) for finished goods, component receipts, and tool crib transactions
- Receive incoming materials, verify documentation, and ensure product matches paperwork
- Scan, label, unpack, and re-label incoming components as required
- Troubleshoot and resolve receipt discrepancies using manual and barcode/EDI scanning processes
- Conduct inventory movement, cycle counts, rack audits, and stock verification
- Load and unload trucks and transport materials within facility locations (including between buildings)
- Operate a forklift and other material handling equipment safely and efficiently
- Assist with material distribution (including urgent or hot parts to production areas)
- Support shipping, receiving, and warehouse teams as needed (water spiders/material handlers)
- Maintain clean, organized work areas following 6S and housekeeping standards
- Follow all safety, quality, and compliance requirements (ISO/TS standards where applicable)
- File and maintain receiving documentation, and assist with return processing and inventory reversals
- Participate in training and continuous improvement initiatives
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Minimum 1+ year experience in a warehouse, logistics, or manufacturing environment
- Experience in inventory receiving, material handling, or shipping/receiving operations
- Forklift operation experience (certification preferred or ability to obtain)
- Ability to lift up to 35 lbs regularly
- Experience using scanners, inventory systems, or basic computer data entry tools
- Comfortable working in a manufacturing/warehouse environment with safety requirements

- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in inventory tracking
- Ability to multitask and prioritize daily workload
- Basic computer literacy (data entry, scanning systems, inventory software)
- Good communication skills (written and verbal)
- Ability to follow standardized processes and safety procedures
Work Environment
- Manufacturing plant / warehouse setting
- Exposure to noise, temperature variations, and industrial equipment
- Required use of steel-toe footwear, hearing protection, and eye protection
- Frequent standing, walking, lifting, and material movement required
