About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Director of Facilities Operations to lead all aspects of facilities management for a large Life Sciences site in De Soto, KS. This position is responsible for overseeing maintenance, safety, compliance, and operational excellence across hard and soft services. The ideal candidate will bring strong leadership, financial management skills, and a proven track record of running high-performing facilities teams in complex, regulated environments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead all aspects of facility operations, ensuring safe, reliable, and efficient performance of building systems and services.
  • Oversee maintenance programs, asset management, energy efficiency, and environmental health and safety compliance.
  • Manage self-performed and subcontracted services, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, utilities, grounds, and custodial operations.
  • Develop and control budgets, forecasts, and cost management plans aligned with company goals.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships, serving as the main point of contact for facility operations and performance updates.
  • Utilize CMMS systems such as SAP or Maximo to track maintenance, scheduling, and performance metrics.
  • Ensure compliance with GMP standards, local regulations, and corporate policies.
  • Provide leadership, training, and development for maintenance and facilities staff.
  • Oversee vendor management, contract negotiations, and performance evaluations.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Facilities Management, Engineering, Business Administration, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Minimum 5 years of progressive management experience in facilities operations, ideally within life sciences, manufacturing, or a highly regulated industry.
  • Strong background in managing multi-service operations, including both self-performed and vendor-delivered services.
  • Excellent financial management skills, including budgeting, forecasting, and cost control.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational abilities.
  • Experience with predictive and preventive maintenance programs and building management systems.
  • Knowledge of GMP, OSHA, and EHS compliance requirements.
