We are seeking an experienced and hands-on Maintenance Manager to oversee all aspects of plant maintenance, including equipment reliability, building systems, grounds, and production processes. The Maintenance Manager will lead a team focused on ensuring safe, efficient, and continuous plant operations. This position plays a key role in driving process improvements, maintaining compliance with OSHA and regulatory standards, and supporting capital projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage all maintenance activities to ensure optimal equipment performance and uptime.
- Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs to minimize downtime and increase production efficiency.
- Plan and coordinate plant layout changes, equipment installations, and process improvements.
- Oversee capital and expense budget projects to ensure cost-effective implementation.
- Maintain compliance with OSHA and all safety regulations while promoting a culture of safety throughout the plant.
- Build and manage relationships with contractors, vendors, and suppliers to ensure high-quality maintenance and project execution.
- Support engineering staff with training, resources, and tools to ensure successful maintenance operations.
- Collaborate with senior management and other departments to address operational issues and drive continuous improvement.
Qualifications
- Associate degree in Engineering, Industrial Maintenance, or related field; equivalent experience considered.
- Minimum of 5 years of management experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in the breader/batter protein industry.
- Strong working knowledge of ammonia and refrigeration systems, protein processing, and plant utilities.
- Hands-on mechanical and electrical troubleshooting experience.
- Proficiency with CAD software and PLC systems.
- Strong leadership and communication skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and shifting priorities.
- Computer proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Word.
Work Environment and Physical Requirements
- Ability to work in a production environment with varying temperatures (-40°F to 110°F).
- May require walking, standing, and lifting up to 40 lbs.
- Use of personal protective equipment, including safety glasses and hearing protection, is required.
- Primarily first shift (7 AM- 5 PM, Monday to Friday), with flexibility for occasional evenings or weekends.
Compensation and Benefits
- Salary range: $135,000- $200,000 annually, with potential to reach up to $225,000 for top talent.
- Bonus potential: Up to 17%.
