Night Shift Industrial Maintenance Technician (Heavy Machinery / Shredder Systems)

Shift: Night Shift | 5:30 PM – 3:30 AM (Flexible 10-hour shifts)

We are seeking a highly skilled Night Shift Maintenance Technician to protect and maintain a $7.5M SSI industrial e-waste shredding system. This is not a general maintenance role—this position owns equipment uptime, asset protection, and rapid breakdown response during night operations.

Downtime equals lost revenue. This role prevents it.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain maximum uptime of large industrial shredder systems
• Troubleshoot and repair heavy mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems
• Perform preventative maintenance to prevent catastrophic equipment failure
• Diagnose issues related to bearings, motors, shafts, gearboxes, cutter stacks, hydraulics, and drives
• Troubleshoot 3-phase electrical systems, panels, sensors, and safety circuits
• Perform welding and fabrication repairs as needed
• Respond immediately to breakdowns and perform root cause analysis
• Document repairs and communicate with Night Operations leadership
• Enforce strict lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures

Required Qualifications

• 7+ years of industrial maintenance experience (heavy machinery required)
• Experience with industrial shredders or similar heavy-duty equipment
• Strong mechanical troubleshooting skills
• Hands-on experience with hydraulic systems (pumps, valves, cylinders)
• Strong knowledge of 3-phase electrical systems
• Welding and fabrication experience required
• Ability to read mechanical and electrical schematics
• Comfortable working night shift independently

Physical Requirements

• Lift 75+ lbs
• Work in a loud, high-output industrial environment
• Perform hands-on repairs on large production equipment
