About the job Principal Investigator Archaeologist
We are hiring a Principal Investigator (Archaeologist) to lead and manage archaeological projects across Texas and nearby states. This role involves Phase I-III fieldwork, artifact analysis, and contributing to high-quality archaeological reports. You will also help grow our cultural resources team in Texas.
Responsibilities:
- Lead small to medium projects or co-manage larger ones.
- Conduct field investigations, identify artifacts, and assess archaeological sites.
- Document research, write site forms, and report sections.
- Collaborate with field, lab, and office staff to meet project and professional standards.
- Support proposals, budgets, and business development efforts.
Qualifications:
- Master's degree in Anthropology or related field.
- Meets the Secretary of the Interior's Standards for Archaeologists.
- 5+ years in archaeology/CRM; 3+ years in leadership.
- Experience in Texas, Oklahoma, or Louisiana; Section 106 and Antiquities Code knowledge.
- Phase I-III fieldwork supervision and experience with Federal Agencies/Tribal Nations.
- Valid driver's license; writing sample and professional references required.
Preferred Skills:
- Registered Professional Archaeologist (or eligible).
- GIS, ArcGIS, ArcMap, Field Maps, AutoCAD/MicroStation experience.
- Lab and curation experience.
