Production Superintendent – Ponca City, OK | Food Manufacturing

Shift: 2nd Shift (Approx. 4 PM–1 AM, Monday–Friday + occasional weekends; OT paid for 6th/7th day)
Salary: $75K–$85K + up to 14% bonus potential

About the Role

We are hiring a Production Superintendent to lead plant production operations in a fast-paced food manufacturing environment. This role ensures high-quality, food-safe products, efficient production, and a safe work environment, while meeting schedules and minimizing costs. You will oversee production teams, coordinate staffing and equipment, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Direct daily production operations to meet quality, safety, and efficiency targets.
  • Manage 4 direct reports (Production Supervisors) and support team development.
  • Ensure compliance with USDA, food safety, and regulatory standards.
  • Optimize production schedules, manpower, and equipment utilization to maintain 93% efficiency.
  • Implement process improvements and waste reduction programs.
  • Monitor inventory, production metrics, and provide cross-shift communication.
  • Support safety audits, provide training, and maintain a hazard-free work environment.

Required Qualifications

  • Food manufacturing experience (USDA and food safety knowledge preferred).
  • Minimum 4 years of leadership/managerial experience in production or manufacturing.
  • Proven ability to lead teams, train supervisors, and manage cross-shift operations.
  • Strong organizational, decision-making, and multitasking skills.
  • Effective communication skills for coordinating across shifts and departments.

Preferred

  • Bachelor's Degree in Meat Science, Business, or related field.
  • Experience with budgeting, capital expenditure planning, and production cost optimization.
  • Familiarity with McDonald's or other food service production standards.

Work Environment

  • Production floor environment: hot/cold, loud, strong smells, and refrigerated/freezer areas.
  • Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs occasionally and stand/walk for extended periods.
