Premier A&H insurance company seeks a Senior Accountant with expertise in STAT and GAAP accounting to manage financial reporting, regulatory filings, and month-end close processes. This is a fully on-site role in Clearwater, FL.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and analyze STAT and GAAP financial statements for Accident & Health (A&H) insurance.
- Lead NAIC quarterly and annual filings and ensure regulatory compliance.
- Manage month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closes.
- Handle premium tax reporting, reinsurance settlements, and general ledger reconciliations.
- Perform variance, ratio, and statistical analyses; present insights to management.
- Maintain accurate cash, intercompany, and bank reconciliations.
- Implement and improve accounting systems, internal controls, and processes.
- Analyze insurance metrics, including IBNR, loss ratios, and persistency schedules.
Required Experience & Skills:
- 4+ years accounting experience; 2+ years in insurance accounting.
- Strong STAT and GAAP accounting experience in Accident & Health (A&H) insurance.
- NAIC reporting experience, Orange/Yellow/Blue Books a plus.
- Proficient in MS Excel (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP) and insurance systems (Oasis, Clearwater).
- Month-end close expertise in insurance accounting.
- Detail-oriented, analytical, and able to meet deadlines.
Education & Certifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting required.
- LOMA or other insurance designations preferred.
