Job Summary:
Join a leading manufacturing company in Littleton, MA, as a Buyer and play a key role in sourcing electrical components, assemblies, and specialized services for complex electromechanical systems. You'll work closely with Engineering and Production teams to ensure high-quality, compliant materials while driving cost efficiency and supplier performance.
Responsibilities:
- Source, quote, negotiate, and issue purchase orders for electrical components, PCBs, cable/wire harnesses, subassemblies, and specialized manufacturing services.
- Ensure supplier compliance with FDA, ISO 13485, and other regulatory standards.
- Develop and maintain strong supplier relationships; conduct audits, performance reviews, and improvement initiatives.
- Identify, evaluate, and qualify new suppliers.
- Support prototype builds, part obsolescence management, and engineering change orders (ECOs).
- Perform cost analysis and support cost-reduction initiatives.
- Monitor supplier performance metrics (quality, delivery, cost, responsiveness).
- Expedite critical materials to maintain production schedules.
- Maintain purchasing documentation and support audits.
Requirements:
- 4-6 years of procurement/supply chain experience in medical device or regulated manufacturing.
- Experience managing procurement of electrical components and assemblies.
- Strong knowledge of the FDA Quality System Regulation (21 CFR Part 820) and ISO 13485.
- Familiarity with low-volume, high-complexity manufacturing environments.
- ERP/MRP proficiency (SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, Salesforce); SRM platforms (SAP Ariba, Coupa) a plus.
- Expertise in supplier qualification, contract negotiation, and performance management.
