We are seeking an experienced and visionary Resident District Manager to lead an exceptional dining services program at The University in Binghamton, NY. This role oversees all aspects of a multifaceted dining operation, including residential dining, retail food outlets, catering, and conference services, serving both year-round and seasonal operations.

The ideal candidate is a strategic, people-focused leader who excels in complex environments and is passionate about delivering outstanding culinary experiences, driving operational excellence, and building strong client partnerships within a higher education setting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage dining operations across residential, retail, catering, and conference service areas.
  • Partner with university stakeholders to align dining services with institutional goals and student needs.
  • Drive financial performance through effective budgeting, cost control, and labor management.
  • Champion initiatives in sustainability, diversity and inclusion, student engagement, and local sourcing.
  • Foster a culture of innovation, accountability, and continuous improvement across all teams.
  • Recruit, mentor, and develop team members, supporting career growth and internal advancement.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience required.
  • Minimum 3 years of management experience in food service, hospitality, or higher education dining.
  • Proven track record managing large-scale budgets of $20 million or more.
  • Strong operational and financial acumen with demonstrated success in achieving performance goals.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and client relationship management skills.
  • Experience managing both front-of-house and back-of-house teams, including unionized staff.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, service-oriented environment focused on excellence and innovation.

Position Summary:

This role is responsible for operational success, financial performance, client satisfaction, and staff development.
