Senior MES Engineer – Life Sciences | Raleigh, NC (Hybrid, 25% Travel)

Salary: $145K–$180K Base + 20–35% Bonus
Location: Raleigh, North Carolina (Hybrid, 25% travel)

About the Role:
We are seeking a Senior MES Engineer with deep Life Sciences MES experience to lead complex projects, act as a solution architect, and mentor engineering teams. This role includes hands-on MES design, deployment, integration with ERP, LIMS, PLC/DCS, and historian systems, and ensuring regulatory compliance (cGMP, 21 CFR Part 11). You'll also have the opportunity to help establish and lead our Raleigh MES office.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead full lifecycle MES projects: concept, design, implementation, testing, and commissioning.
• Deploy MES solutions using Werum PAS-X, Sepasoft, POMS or similar platforms.
• Integrate MES with PLC/DCS, ERP (SAP), LIMS, Maximo, historians, and SQL/Oracle databases.
• Ensure compliance with Life Sciences regulations and industry standards (GAMP5, S88/S95).
• Act as technical lead and mentor, guiding engineers and technicians.
• Support business development and client engagement, including trade shows and partnerships.
• Manage budgets, schedules, and project profitability for projects up to $1M+.

Required Qualifications:

• Must reside in North Carolina
• 10+ years MES experience, with 4+ years in Life Sciences
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or Applied Sciences
• Proven expertise in MES platforms, industrial automation, systems integration, and relational databases
• Leadership experience: managing teams and mentoring junior staff
• Ability to travel up to 25%

Preferred Qualifications:

• Integrator or consulting experience
• Experience with whitefield and brownfield MES projects
• Aptitude for business development and client relationship building
