Senior Controls Engineer – Industrial Automation | Albuquerque, NM

Overview:
We are seeking a Senior Controls Engineer in Albuquerque, NM to lead industrial automation projects for diverse industries including Semiconductor, Life Sciences, Building Automation, Food & Beverage, Oil & Gas, Mining, and Water/Wastewater. This leadership role involves designing, implementing, and commissioning PLC, DCS, HMI, and SCADA systems, managing engineering teams, and delivering high-quality automation solutions to clients.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead design, programming, testing, commissioning, and qualification of control systems.
• Develop system architecture, schematics, and HMI/SCADA visualizations.
• Program controllers using Ladder Logic, Sequential Function Chart, Structured Text, and integrate with SQL, .NET, VBA.
• Mentor and manage engineering teams; provide technical leadership and guidance.
• Oversee project execution, including schedules, budgets, and client interactions for projects up to $1M.
• Implement industrial networking using Ethernet/IP, Profinet, Modbus, and other protocols.
• Troubleshoot field devices, control panels, and instrumentation.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Control, Mechanical, Chemical Engineering, or Computer Science.
• 10+ years of Controls Engineering experience with PLC, DCS, HMI, SCADA platforms.
• Hands-on experience with Rockwell Automation, Siemens, Modicon PLCs.
• HMI/SCADA expertise: ICONICS Genesis64, Wonderware ArchestrA, GE CIMPLICITY/iFIX, Rockwell FactoryTalk View.
• Strong programming skills in VBA, .NET, SQL for data integration and automation.
• Leadership experience managing engineering teams and projects.
• Must be local to Albuquerque, NM or have strong ties to the area.

Preferred Skills:

• Experience with AutoCAD and industrial networking.
• Familiarity with DeltaV DCS platforms.
• Power BI, Grafana, APIs integration experience.
