The Company is actively seeking a Licensed Land Surveyor / Survey Manager to lead our survey team in delivering high-quality, precision-driven survey work across various civil engineering projects. What You'll Do:

  • Supervise and lead a team of surveyors and field technicians on projects including construction staking, boundary surveys, topographic surveys, utility location, SUE, KYDOT Route Surveying, and more.
  • Oversee daily operations of the surveying department, ensuring quality, safety, accuracy, and timely delivery.
  • Plan, organize, and direct survey work, assigning responsibilities and setting clear project objectives.
  • Prepare project scope, proposals, budgets, and schedules in coordination with engineers and project managers.
  • Perform advanced boundary and topographic research, survey computations, and QA/QC.
  • Represent the firm in meetings with clients, agencies, and contractors.

  • Develop and implement best practices for field data collection, safety, and data processing.
  • Train, mentor, and evaluate the performance of junior surveyors and technicians.
  • Use Trimble GPS, robotic total stations, MicroStation, AutoCAD, Carlson, and Microsoft Office Suite for drafting and data management.

What You Need to Succeed:

Must-Haves:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Land Surveying, Civil Engineering, or a related field (preferred).
  • Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) license in Kentucky or ability to obtain within a reasonable time.
  • Minimum 5 years of land surveying experience, including field and office work.
  • Proficiency with Trimble Instruments, AutoCAD, MicroStation, and Carlson Survey Software.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.

  • Strong knowledge of boundary law, construction staking, and topographic mapping.

Nice to Have:

  • NCEES Certification.

  • Experience with KYDOT Route Surveying or similar DOT-related projects.

Work Environment & Travel:

  • Primarily office-based (80%) with occasional fieldwork.

  • Field conditions may include varied weather and terrain; lifting up to 25 lbs may be required.

  • Travel requirement: ~20% (project sites, client meetings, field inspections).
