Job Summary:
We are hiring a Licensed Land Surveyor / Survey Manager to oversee land surveying projects, manage field crews, and coordinate with engineering, utility, and construction teams. Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and lead land survey crews and technicians on a variety of projects
  • Plan, assign, and manage surveying work, including construction layout, boundary surveys, topographic mapping, and utility locating
  • Research records such as deeds, plats, and previous surveys to obtain necessary data
  • Coordinate survey work with engineering, right-of-way, and utility teams
  • Prepare survey proposals, estimates, and budgets

  • Ensure all surveys meet quality standards, safety requirements, and regulatory compliance
  • Prepare and review survey documents, including plats, legal descriptions, and CAD drawings
  • Represent the company at client meetings, conferences, and public hearings
  • Train and mentor junior staff and technicians

Required Qualifications:

  • Licensed Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) in Kentucky or ability to obtain license quickly
  • Bachelor's Degree in Land Surveying, Civil Engineering, or related field (preferred)
  • 5+ years of hands-on land surveying experience with increasing responsibility
  • Proficiency with Trimble Instruments, AutoCAD, MicroStation, Carlson Software, and Microsoft Office
  • Strong knowledge of survey methods, boundary law, and regulatory compliance
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel up to 20%

Preferred Qualifications:

  • NCEES Certification

  • Experience with Kentucky Department of Transportation (KYDOT) Route Surveying

Work Environment:

  • Office Work: ~80% of time; climate-controlled, sedentary work

  • Field Work: ~20% of time; may include exposure to outdoor conditions and light lifting (up to 25 lbs)
