About the Role:
The Company Engineering is actively seeking a Licensed Land Surveyor / Project Manager with extensive experience in land surveying, subsurface utility engineering (SUE), and project management. In this leadership role, you will supervise and manage field survey operations while ensuring technical excellence and regulatory compliance. This position is ideal for a motivated and licensed survey professional ready to lead large-scale civil, utility, and infrastructure projects from planning to completion.
️ Key Responsibilities:
- Lead, organize, and manage land survey and SUE projects across the public and private sectors.
- Supervise a team of surveyors and technicians; promote and enforce safe field practices.
- Determine project scope, timelines, and labor budgets; coordinate with engineering, right-of-way, and utility teams.
- Prepare and review survey proposals, technical reports, boundary research, and mapping data.
- Represent The Company in client meetings, public forums, and proposal presentations.

Ensure all projects follow federal, state, and local regulations.
- Oversee quality control of all survey deliverables, including maps, plats, as-builts, and legal descriptions.
- Train and mentor junior survey staff and manage performance evaluations.
Required Qualifications:

Licensed Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) Required
- Minimum 12 years of progressive experience in land surveying and project management
- Proven experience in managing Subsurface Utility Engineering (SUE) projects
- Expert knowledge of survey practices, boundary law, and regulatory codes
- Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to lead meetings and client presentations
- Proficiency with survey technology (e.g., GPS, Total Station, AutoCAD Civil 3D, Trimble, etc.)
Preferred Experience:

Prior work with transportation, infrastructure, or utility projects
- Experience coordinating across multiple disciplines (engineering, environmental, ROW)

Familiarity with DOT, municipal, or utility agency standards
Work Environment & Travel:

Office work: ~80% (Sedentary, climate-controlled environment)
- Field work: ~20% (May include varied weather conditions and light lifting)
- Travel required for site visits, field assessments, and client meetings (approx. 20%)
