Are you a highly experienced and licensed Land Surveyor looking to step into a leadership role? Do you thrive in managing diverse surveying projects while mentoring teams and building client relationships? We're seeking a Licensed Land Surveyor / Project Manager to lead our dynamic team and oversee projects across construction, utility location, SUE (Subsurface Utility Engineering), and land development.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage multiple survey field crews and office technicians

• Organize, plan, and direct land surveying operations and ensure compliance with Federal, State, and local regulations

• Conduct quality control/assurance reviews on project deliverables

• Manage client relationships, budgets, schedules, and billing

• Collaborate with engineers, designers, and project stakeholders to ensure accuracy and timely delivery
• Represent the company in client meetings, presentations, and business development efforts
• Provide mentorship, feedback, and coaching to survey staff, fostering professional growth and safety practices

Required Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent

• 12+ years of progressive experience in land surveying

• Licensed Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) in the state of Virginia

• Proficient in Bentley MicroStation/OpenRoads and/or AutoCAD Civil 3D
• Solid understanding of surveying codes, standards, and jurisdictional regulations

Preferred Qualifications (Nice to Have):

• Experience with subsurface utility locating and designating (SUE)

• Familiarity with VDOT and Hampton Roads municipalities

• Knowledge of aerial mapping, LiDAR scanning, and small Unmanned Aerial Systems (sUAS)

Work Environment & Travel:

• 80% office-based (comfortable, standard office setting)

• Occasional fieldwork in varying weather conditions

• Ability to lift up to 25 lbs occasionally

• Travel Required: ~20%
