About the job Senior Licensed Land Surveyor & SUE Project Manager
Job Summary:
The Company is actively seeking a Licensed Land Surveyor / Project Manager with extensive experience in land surveying and SUE project management. In this leadership role, you will oversee survey teams, manage complex survey projects, and ensure accuracy, safety, and compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. This position plays a critical role in supporting our construction, utility, and land development operations.
Note: This position is not eligible for employer-sponsored work authorization, with the exception of the TN visa classification.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage field and office staff on all aspects of surveying and SUE projects.

Supervise and train survey crews, technicians, and assistants.
- Plan, organize, and direct surveys to determine precise measurements, boundaries, topography, and utility locations.
- Coordinate survey data with engineering, right-of-way, and utility teams to ensure seamless project execution.
- Review and analyze project scope, prepare proposals, budgets, schedules, and staffing plans.
- Oversee the preparation of maps, plats, records, legal descriptions, and survey documents.
- Conduct boundary research using deeds, plats, previous survey records, and legal documentation.
- Participate in client meetings and represent the firm in project planning, coordination, and conflict resolution.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable surveying laws, safety protocols, and quality standards.
- Promote a culture of safety and continuous improvement across the survey team.
Required Qualifications:
- Licensed Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) active and in good standing.
- 12+ years of experience in land surveying, including supervisory or project management roles.
- In-depth knowledge of Federal, State, and Local surveying regulations.

Preferred Skills (Nice to Have):

Experience with Subsurface Utility Engineering (SUE) practices.

Familiarity with DOT or municipal project requirements.

Working knowledge of CAD, GIS, and other mapping software.

Experience preparing survey proposals and responding to RFPs.
Working Conditions:
- Office Environment (80%): Standard office hours in a professional setting. Minimal exposure to hazardous conditions.
- Field Work (20%): Occasional outdoor work in varying weather conditions; may involve walking, standing, or lifting up to 25 lbs.
