Position Overview

The company is seeking a Senior Project Manager – Construction to support a national energy client portfolio based in Richmond, CA. This role is responsible for leading complex construction projects across active facilities, with a strong focus on Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) systems, renovations, safety compliance, and multi-stakeholder coordination.

You will oversee project execution from planning through closeout, ensuring delivery within scope, schedule, quality, and budget requirements while maintaining strong client and subcontractor relationships.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and support a team of project managers, ensuring accountability for delivery, performance metrics, and project execution standards
  • Manage full project lifecycle including planning, scheduling, execution, commissioning, and closeout
  • Oversee construction activities in active environments, ensuring safety compliance and minimal operational disruption
  • Coordinate MEP systems integration and complex renovation work across multiple sites
  • Develop and manage project budgets, forecasts, cost controls, and recovery plans as needed
  • Administer contracts, manage procurement processes, and oversee subcontractor performance
  • Maintain strong client relationships through clear communication, reporting, and issue resolution
  • Ensure project documentation, controls, and reporting align with company and client standards
  • Drive risk management, change control, and schedule adherence across all assigned projects

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field
  • Minimum 5 years of management experience leading construction project teams or project managers
  • At least 3 years of experience in project controls, scheduling, forecasting, and cost management
  • Proven experience managing complex construction projects, including MEP systems and active-site renovations
  • Strong understanding of safety programs, compliance standards, and construction regulations
  • Experience working with multiple stakeholders, subcontractors, and client organizations

Technical Skills

  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Experience with scheduling and estimating tools (e.g., Microsoft Project, Primavera P6)
  • Hands-on use of construction/project management platforms (e.g., Procore, BIM 360, PlanGrid)
  • Strong capability in Visio, Adobe, and related documentation tools
  • Experience with financial tracking, forecasting, and project reporting systems
