We are seeking an experienced Licensed Land Surveyor / Survey Manager to lead our survey operations for high-profile civil, transportation, and municipal projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage multiple field crews and office technicians for civil and transportation projects.
- Oversee project budgets, schedules, QA/QC, and client communications.
- Coordinate with VDOT and local municipalities for roadway, utility corridor, and infrastructure surveys.
- Drive business growth through proposal development and client relationship management.
- Mentor and develop survey staff through coaching, performance reviews, and career planning.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local survey regulations.
Must-Have Qualifications
- Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) license or ability to sit for the exam within 6 months (exam fees covered).
- 12+ years of survey experience, including at least 5 years in a supervisory or management role.
- Strong DOT/municipal project experience.
- Proficiency in Bentley MicroStation / OpenRoads and AutoCAD Civil 3D.
- High school diploma or equivalent (Bachelor's in Surveying or Civil Technology preferred).
Preferred Skills
- Subsurface utility locating/designating expertise.
- Experience with LiDAR, aerial mapping, or sUAS operations.
Compensation & Benefits
- Competitive salary $85,000 - $145,000, based on licensure and leadership experience.
- $5,000 - $10,000 sign-on bonus (issued at 90 days) relocation support available.
