Manual Machinist – 2nd/3rd Shift

Shift: 2nd/3rd Shift

Overview:

We are hiring an experienced Manual Machinist in Indianapolis, IN for 2nd and 3rd shift opportunities. This role is ideal for candidates with strong manual machining experience, blueprint reading skills, and the ability to operate a variety of shop equipment in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities:

• Operate manual machining equipment, including lathes, mills, grinders, drill presses, and balancing equipment
• Perform turning, milling, threading, boring, drilling, and grinding operations
• Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications
• Measure and inspect parts using micrometers, calipers, bore gauges, and other precision tools
• Complete welding tasks, including MIG, TIG, Stick, and Oxy-Acetylene as needed
• Maintain accurate production and measurement documentation
• Follow all safety procedures and maintain a clean work environment

Qualifications:

• Previous experience as a Manual Machinist required
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints required
• High school diploma or GED required
• 3+ years of machining or mechanical experience preferred
• Strong understanding of measurements, tolerances, fractions, and decimals
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment
• A technical certificate or an associate degree in a mechanical or electrical field is a plus
