Job Summary
We are hiring a Senior Controls Engineer to lead industrial automation projects across PLC, DCS, HMI, and SCADA systems. This is a hands-on, client-facing role responsible for full project lifecycle delivery—from design and programming to commissioning—while leading engineering teams and driving technical standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead end-to-end automation projects: requirements, design, programming, testing, commissioning
  • Design control system architecture, electrical schematics (480VAC), and documentation
  • Program PLC/DCS systems (Rockwell, Siemens, Modicon) and HMI/SCADA platforms (FactoryTalk, Wonderware, GE, ICONICS)
  • Implement industrial networks (EtherNet/IP, Profinet, Modbus)
  • Manage project scope, budget, and schedule (projects up to $1M)
  • Provide technical leadership, mentor engineers, and support design standards
  • Troubleshoot field devices and support client operations

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Chemical Engineering, or Computer Science
  • 10+ years of Controls/Automation Engineering experience
  • Expertise in PLC, DCS, HMI, and SCADA systems
  • Programming: Ladder Logic, SFC, Structured Text; plus VBA, .NET, SQL
  • Experience with Rockwell, Siemens, or Modicon platforms
  • Knowledge of SQL, APIs, Power BI or Grafana
  • Proven team leadership and project management experience
  • Must be based in or have ties to the Albuquerque, NM area

Preferred Qualifications

  • Emerson DeltaV or similar DCS
  • AutoCAD experience
  • Large-scale industrial networking experience

Industry Experience (any): Semiconductor, Life Sciences, Food & Beverage, Oil & Gas, Mining, Water/Wastewater, Building Automation

Work Environment

  • On-site role in Albuquerque, NM (5 days/week)
  • Mix of office and industrial site environments
  • Field work may include equipment access, lifting, and troubleshooting
