We are searching for a visionary Senior Lead Engineer to spearhead the Blaze Commerce project, a groundbreaking e-commerce solution designed to overcome the intrinsic limitations of WordPress and WooCommerce. This role is pivotal in leading the technical development and execution of Blaze Commerce, leveraging cutting-edge technologies like React and Next.js to deliver a state-of-the-art ecommerce experience.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Technical Leadership and Project Management: Lead the technical development of the Blaze Commerce platform, ensuring it harnesses the latest in React, Next.js, and JavaScript libraries. Proficient in hosting effective meetings and adept at project management to ensure seamless coordination and successful execution.
  • Feature Implementation Leadership: Spearhead feature implementation, grooming tasks by evaluating the size of work, setting sprint points, and delegating to peers. Provide daily and weekly updates on managed projects, ensuring alignment with project timelines and goals.
  • Design Alignment: Ensure project implementation aligns with the Figma design layout project file, maintaining fidelity to the envisioned user experience.
  • Mentorship: Provide mentorship and guidance to junior developers, fostering their professional growth and development within the team.
  • Automation and Process Improvement: Automate processes and build procedures for existing and new projects, enhancing efficiency and reliability.
  • Solution Engineering: Offer optimal solutions to complex problems, driving innovation and excellence in project outcomes.
  • Code Quality Assurance: Ship clean, testable code that facilitates easy onboarding for developers across teams. Conduct thorough code reviews for recently submitted pull requests to maintain high code quality and consistency standards.

Required Skills

  • Core Technologies: Proficiency in ReactJS, NodeJS, TypeScript, webpack, and package managers such as Yarn or Npm is essential. Experience with React storybook, Jest, Ghost Inspector, or similar tools is also required.
  • Framework Expertise: Strong experience with NextJS and Vercel. A deep understanding of HTML, CSS, Sass, TailwindCSS, and Sass.
  • State Management: Experience with React Redux, Context API, or MobX.
  • API Integration: Solid experience with REST APIs, GraphQL, and integrating with backend systems.
  • WordPress Proficiency: Expertise in PHP, WordPress, WooCommerce, WordPress theming and plugin development, with a solid understanding of action and filter hooks.
  • Development Tools: Familiarity with GitHub, GitHub Actions, CI/CD pipelines for streamlined development and deployment processes.
  • Debugging and Standards: Exceptional debugging and code tracing skills, strictly adhering to coding standards.
