About the job Head of Cafe Operations
Head of Café Operations
Compensation: $125,000–$155,000 annually, depending on experience
Location: Texas; regular presence across café locations will be required
Employment Type: Full-time
About the Opportunity
A rapidly growing premium hospitality and food & beverage company is seeking a Head of Café Operations to lead operations across its expanding multi-location café portfolio.
This individual will have end-to-end responsibility for café performance, including P&L ownership, operating standards, General Manager development, reporting, customer experience, labor performance, and new-store openings.
The ideal candidate has successfully managed and scaled multiple locations, understands how to develop strong General Managers, and has built repeatable operating systems that maintain quality as a brand expands.
This is not a single-store or traditional district manager opportunity. The company needs an experienced multi-unit operator capable of creating structure, accountability, and consistent execution across the entire café organization.
What You'll Own
- Overall operational performance across all café locations
- Café-level and portfolio-level P&L performance
- Development, coaching, and accountability of General Managers
- Operating standards, procedures, and performance expectations
- Labor planning, scheduling standards, productivity, and cost management
- Customer experience and service consistency
- Food, beverage, and operating-quality standards
- Store-level KPI development and reporting
- Weekly and monthly business reviews
- Identification and correction of underperforming locations
- New-store opening readiness and execution
- Development of repeatable opening and operating playbooks
- Cross-functional coordination with finance, marketing, people operations, supply chain, and leadership
- Operational planning as the café footprint expands
- Continuous improvement of systems, workflows, and management practices
What We're Looking For
- Strong multi-unit café, restaurant, hospitality, or premium retail operations experience
- Experience managing leaders across multiple locations
- Proven P&L ownership
- Track record of scaling operations rather than simply maintaining existing locations
- Experience developing General Managers and building leadership pipelines
- Strong command of labor management, operating metrics, and store-level financial performance
- Experience opening new locations
- Demonstrated ability to standardize processes across multiple sites
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
- Comfortable operating in a high-growth environment where systems are still being built
Particularly Relevant Backgrounds
Experience with high-quality multi-unit brands such as specialty cafés, fast-casual restaurants, premium hospitality concepts, or other rapidly scaling consumer brands would be highly relevant.
Potential backgrounds may include organizations similar to Blank Street, WatchHouse, Verve Coffee, Peet's Coffee, Joe & The Juice, Sweetgreen, or comparable multi-unit operators.
The successful candidate will help build an operating platform capable of supporting a significantly larger café footprint.
