Position Overview 

We are looking for an experienced Development Manager/Lead Architect to join our team supporting the design and delivery of our mission-critical ERP solutions for local government. This individual will lead by example in understanding complex business domains, breaking down large-scale projects, mentoring team members, and driving architectural decisions that align with our platform goals. You will play a critical role in shaping our product direction and development culture. 

Responsibilities 

  • Analyze complex local government ERP business requirements and translate them into sound technical solutions. 
  • Break down large development initiatives into manageable technical components and tasks. 
  • Lead the architectural planning, design, and implementation of product features and enhancements. 
  • Manage and mentor the development team, performing code reviews, promoting best practices, and managing their workload. 
  • Drive technical discussions with a strong understanding of platform capabilities, performance, security, and scalability. 
  • Collaborate with Product Management to ensure technical feasibility of functional requirements. 
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of development standards and engineering processes. 
  • Remain hands-on when needed, guiding and supporting the team through development challenges. 

Skills and Experience 

  • 8+ years of experience in software development, including 3+ years in a technical leadership and/or architectural role. 
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to quickly understand complex business logic. 
  • Proven success leading software design and implementation projects in multi-developer teams. 
  • Excellent communication and mentoring skills. 
  • Deep understanding of software architecture principles, modern web technologies, APIs, and integration patterns. 
  • Sound judgment in technology selection, tradeoffs, and design choices. 
  • ERP or related experience/education, ideally in a local government environment. 
  • Experience working in a SaaS or cloud-based product environment is a strong asset.
