About the role

This role is an amazing opportunity to work in the Country Pavilion as AV Technician at World Expo 2025. The ideal candidate will have experience in maintenance, troubleshooting and an understanding of technical set-ups at events, exhibitions and public space. You should be independent as shift scheduling may place you as the sole Technical member on duty but will be part of a Technical Team responsible for overseeing day-to-day operational functionality of the Pavillion, ensuring the Pavillion is maintained and operating as per operational plans and procedures..

Key Responsibilities

Audio-Visual Operations

  • Prepare and operate all AV installations for Pavilion events and daily operations.

  • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on AV systems, including media servers, touch panels, monitors, and projection equipment.
  • Load, test, and monitor media content for daily shows and scheduled events.
  • Support in conference room setups

Facility & Daily Pavilion Operations

  • Conduct pre-opening and closing procedures (screens, doors, HVAC checks, radios, lighting, and cleaning of AV-related devices).

  • Assist the Facility Management (FM) team with routine checks (HVAC logs, pumps, elevators, doors, drainage, mechanical systems).

  • Participate in cleaning and upkeep of AV devices (monitors, touch screens, outdoor/indoor displays).

  • Support FM in emergency interventions (e.g., pump cleaning, equipment reset, coordination with subcontractors).

Team & Stakeholder Coordination

  • Communicate effectively with Pavilion management,

    client representatives, subcontractors, and the media team.
  • Report incidents or technical issues promptly and

    propose corrective actions.
  • Provide operational updates during daily briefings and via radio communication. In the event of equipment failure or malfunctions, be able to assess the most appropriate course of action e.g. in-house repairs, external contracting, seek internal opinion etc.
  • Experience in preventive and reactive maintenance of exhibitions and public space
  • Participates in operational coverage to ensure a 

    technical staff member is always available during exhibition operating hours.
  • Share a 24-hour on-call response with the Technical Team
  • Perform routine functionality and safety checks, conduct regular reviews of Pavillion space and implement corrective actions to address issues.
  • Ensure all safety, quality, and compliance standards are adhered to.
  • Prepare and maintain regular operation/maintenance reports and any accidental reports.
  • Support the Pavillion management team in any other related tasks as may be requested.

Requirements

  • Strong knowledge of AV systems operation and 

    troubleshooting.
  • Good communication skills in English (spoken). 

  • Ability to use radio communication in a professional environment.
  • Flexible working hours:
    • Morning shift starting at 07:30.

    • Evening shift finishing around 22:30.

    • Team spirit, adaptability, and ability to work under pressure in an event-driven environment.

  • Availability: Immediately
  • Pavilion public opening hours: On shift and based on the Japanese working law.
