Head Butcher Job Knocknacarra Galway

We are delighted to assist one of Ireland's most successful supermarket chains located in Connacht who is hiring a for Qualified Seasoned Butcher Professionals and Head Butchers to join their growing retail business.

This job is located in a scenic tourist destination on the West Coast of Ireland, about 10 minutes drive from Knocknacarra. 

Flexible working shift patterns for this Butcher job, working around trading hours such as 6-3, 8-4 or 10-7pm latest shift.

Rate offered : Opened rate depending on experience, typical butchering rates vary from 15 20 euro for qualified experience. Full time contract as well. 

Key Responsibilities for this Butcher Job:

• Prepare and cut various types of meat products, including beef, pork, poultry, and seafood, ac-cording to customer preferences and specifications
• Ensure all meat products are of high quality, properly trimmed, and free from defects
• Follow all food safety and sanitation guidelines to maintain a clean and safe work environment
• Assist customers with their meat selections and provide recommendations on cooking methods and recipes
• Package and label meat products for display and sale
• Maintain knowledge of current market trends and adjust product offerings accordingly

Requirements for this Butcher Job:

• Ideally a minimum of 3-5 years of experience as a Butcher in a retail or supermarket setting  
• Good knowledge of different cuts of meat and their preparation methods, controlling yield and waste
• Excellent customer service and communication skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks
• Familiarity with food safety and sanitation regulations
• Physical ability to stand for extended periods of time and lift heavy objects
• Must be available to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays but fair rotation of roster is in place
