Supermarket Senior Trainee Manager Job Mayo

I am working with a successful and well-known chain of supermarket stores within the Connacht area. They have a number of positions for a Retail Trainee Manager to join their growing supermarket team. This is a great opportunity for a hard-working, customer focused person, who is a senior shop assistant or current Shop Supervisor or Trainee Manager keen on moving into a bigger group. As a Trainee Manager, you will be trained to take control of certain sections of the store, how to place orders, how to be effective in growing sales, controlling costs and how to lead teams. This successful Retail group has proven time and time again, their ability to develop ambitious retail staff, most of their Store Managers have come up the ranks from Trainee Managers.

Salary will DOE, from 32,000 - 35,000 but has a chance to grow as you develop in the business.

40-hour contract, staff discount, huge scope to progress a successful management career within a large big box retail store.

The requirements for this Grocery Trainee Manager Job:

  • Have strong attention to detail
  • People management skills, prior experience supervising shop, supporting and coaching staff
  • Must demonstrate good business acumen, a professional decorum, a reasonable understanding of productivity, sales, control costs etc
  • Grocery or fresh food knowledge ideally within Retail, Supermarkets, Catering, or Cafe environments would be essential for this job.
  • Strong organisational skills, demonstrate the ability to prioritise tasks, meet deadlines, and achieve results in a high pressured environment
  • Flexible to work different shifts, mornings and evenings, weekend work is included

Responsibilities for this Grocery Supermarket Floor Manager Job:

  • Shop minding, ensuring the store runs smoothly, and maintaining the standards whilst managing the store on your own
  • As a Duty Manager, you will be assigned specific departments to ensure effective growth of these areas, by maintaining availability as agreed, driving profitability and sales, liaising and coordinating with your suppliers to ensure pricing and stock levels are controlled and effective control over waste
  • Supervising and coaching teams in your departments
  • Customer service, using your experience in professionally resolving complaints, developing a good customer service strategy to entice more customers, increase footfall, and retain customers
