Position Overview:

The Technical Sales Specialist (TSS) serves as a key technical resource within the Sales team, providing front-line support for both internal and external stakeholders. This role is responsible for responding to customer inquiries, developing application-based solutions, and supporting sales initiatives in close coordination with an assigned Regional Sales Manager (RSM). The Technical Sales Specialist plays a vital role in driving customer satisfaction and supporting regional sales growth through responsive, solution-oriented service.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for customer inquiries received via phone, email, and web channels, including questions related to product applications, specifications, pricing, and availability.
  • Evaluate industrial process measurement applications and engineer appropriate technical solutions utilizing Berthold Technologies' product portfolio.
  • Prepare detailed quotations and technical proposals tailored to specific customer needs.
  • Collaborate with the Engineering department to develop custom drawings or documentation required to support sales efforts and customer projects.
  • Act as a liaison between customers, representatives, and Berthold Engineering on large-scale technical projects involving consulting engineers or engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) firms.
  • Maintain accurate and current records in the companys CRM system, including customer accounts, contact details, project tracking, and opportunity management. Ensure active follow-up to advance opportunities through the sales cycle.
  • Identify opportunities to improve internal workflows and implement changes to increase efficiency and responsiveness.
  • Ensure all technical inquiries from customers and representatives are addressed thoroughly and in a timely manner.
  • Maintain proactive and consistent communication with the assigned Regional Sales Manager to coordinate customer and representative activities within the defined territory.
  • Escalate sensitive or complex customer matters to the Regional Sales Manager as appropriate to ensure proper resolution and relationship management.

Team Collaboration:

The TSS and RSM function as an integrated sales team within a defined geographic region. Daily coordination and open communication between both roles are essential to deliver consistent, high-quality customer experiences and achieve regional sales objectives.

Travel Requirements:

While the role is primarily office-based, occasional domestic travel may be required to support trade shows, customer visits, or regional sales activities.
