About Blurb.fm

At Blurb, we're building revenue-generating content products for the most influential media companies in the world. We scale content from what already exists - turning catalogs and brand assets into high-performing formats for every major platform.

Our mission is simple: help media companies unlock growth through high-volume, high-impact content.

The role

Were looking for a Director of Product to own product direction and platform strategy at Blurb.

This is a hands-on leadership role. Youll be responsible for turning business needs and high-level ideas into clear product direction, working closely with engineering, design, leadership, and clients to ship systems that scale.

The role is primarily product strategy and ownership. Hands-on design skills are a strong plus, but not a requirement.

What youll do

Own product direction & platform strategy

  • Own end-to-end product direction across Blurbs platform

  • Translate business goals, deal requirements, and revenue priorities into product strategy

  • Decide what to build now vs later, and clearly explain tradeoffs

  • Ensure the product effectively supports the entire content and distribution lifecycle, from creation through monetization

Build scalable systems

  • Design workflows and systems that scale efficiently across large and complex catalogs

  • Partner closely with engineering to define scope, sequencing, and system constraints

  • Anticipate reliability, scale, and operational failure points early

Make ideas concrete

  • Take vague or high-level ideas and turn them into clear, testable product direction

  • Use lightweight artifacts — flows, examples, prototypes — to align stakeholders

  • Be comfortable creating quick prototypes (e.g. Figma, low-fidelity mocks, or vibe-coded demos) to demonstrate how things should work

Partner with design & engineering

  • Work closely with Product Designers (where applicable) to:
    • Frame problems clearly

    • Set quality bars

    • Give actionable feedback

  • Collaborate deeply with engineering on:
    • Scope and sequencing

    • Tradeoffs between speed, quality, and scale

  • Partner with the Design Department focused on template and motion design to:
    • Ensure product and design systems stay aligned through the video generation pipeline

    • Collaborate day-to-day to troubleshoot, refine, and evolve how product and design systems work together

Represent product internally and externally

  • Act as a product voice in client-facing conversations

  • Explain product capabilities, constraints, and tradeoffs to non-technical stakeholders

  • Help align expectations with what the platform can realistically support

  • Balance transparency with protecting the team from overcommitment

Drive alignment and momentum

  • Run or contribute to product rituals (e.g. demos, reviews, roadmap discussions)

  • Keep the team aligned on priorities and decisions

  • Reduce rework by clarifying direction early

What youll bring

  • At least 5-10 years of product leadership experience, either as a founder or in a company setting where you owned product direction and outcomes

  • Demonstrated ability to define and drive end-to-end product strategy, not just manage execution

  • Strong product taste — a clear sense for what makes a product intuitive, cohesive, and high quality

  • Systems and platform thinking; you see how parts connect and scale

  • Comfort operating with ambiguity and incomplete information

  • Excellent collaboration skills with engineering, design, and leadership

  • Clear, confident communication of product intent to both internal and external audiences

  • Experience thriving in early-stage or high-ownership environments

Bonus points

  • Hands-on product design experience (Figma, flows, prototyping)

  • Founder or early leadership team background

  • Experience with media, content platforms, or creator ecosystems
