Pricing Manager

Job Function:

• Supervise the Estimator team

• Responsible for estimates and tenders for Durban office

• Distribute general quotes / RFP / RFQ via a register

• Liaise with clients to discuss rate submissions and provide solutions

• Check and authorise quotations / proposals for all transport modes: Sea, Road, Air, Cross-trade, and Abnormal Cargo

• Negotiate rates with shipping lines, transporters, and airlines as needed

• Ensure rates are updated in the system and remain competitive

• Adhere to the three-rate policy for tenders and abnormal quote requests due to market fluctuations

• Analyze official tender requests (RFQ / RFP / RFI) for all Industrial Project Tenders (excluding Mining Tenders)

• Assist with compiling rates and solutions for tenders

• Compile tender responses together with Bid Desk

• Ensure proper handover of secured quotes / tenders to operations team or management

• Monitor the Quotation Module System and ensure estimators use it according to The Companys standards

• Produce monthly project pricing reports with statistics on RFQ / RFP / RFI and tenders issued vs secured

Client Liaison

• Clarify requests

• Discuss rate submissions

• Discuss solutions

Rates Negotiations

• Negotiate rates with shipping lines, transporters, and airlines

• Ensure rates are competitive

• Apply the three-quote principle for abnormal quotes

Rates Library

• Ensure rates are regularly updated in the rates library

Minimum Education and Experience:

• 5 years of estimator experience

• 2 years as a senior or supervisory freight estimator

• 5 years of shipping background

• Prior experience with Tenders / RFQ / RFI

• Ability to analyze a tender, determine required input, engage stakeholders, and compile technical and commercial responses

• Work within The Companys quotation module (training will be provided)

• Previous experience in Project Pricing / Load Planning essential

• Multimodal pricing experience (Air, Ocean, Road Freight import & export)

• Abnormal cargo pricing experience (heavy lift, air & ocean charters)
